Welcome to Ahimsa Healing, my name is Sheeba and I am a Usui Reiki Master, Marma Practitioner and I offer Chakra Balancing.
So, a little about me, I was raised in both India and England and now live in New Jersey. From an early age I was exposed to both traditional medicine, as the majority of my family are doctors or involved with healthcare and, natural medicine through ancient Ayurvedic and home remedies passed down through the family over the ages.
This exposure piqued my interest in health and the ability to provide healing to others and led me on a path where I myself have dedicated over 22 years of my life to the world of healthcare and medicine, while continuing my learnings of the healing arts and spiritual practices.
Throughout my life, I have faced many trials and challenges, none of which were easy but all were necessary to allow me to connect with others from a place of authenticity and compassion. My spiritual awakening truly amped up around 2010 and the Universe convened to present me with opportunities to align with my life purpose.
Since that point, I have been struck with a passionate urgency to learn anything and everything about energy healing. Today, I am still of the mindset that we are never done with learning and I remain humbled at the privilege to providing healing relief for those in need.
I have been attuned to the Usui System of Natural Healing in accordance with the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition within the lineage of Rev. Beth Gray and Barbara Livingston.
I have studied under the expert guidance of Dr Vasant Lad – one of the world’s foremost experts in Ayurveda.
What’s in a name?
Ahimsa is a Sanskrit word that has many levels of meaning. In its simplest sense, it means ‘non-violence’, ‘non-harmful’ and compassion.
The practice of Ahimsa involves universal love and compassion towards others and oneself physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
Ahimsa is also the most important of the five yamas (moral imperatives), described in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. It represents the right attitude necessary to lead a moral life.
I chose Ahimsa as the name for my business because it captures the essence of the healing I want to provide to others.
